Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, Minnesota is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to perform repair and preventative maintenance on ultrapure water systems, pH, HVAC, chiller, boiler, and compressed air plants. You will support production by keeping equipment running at peak performance and with minimal disruption.

Responsibilities include executing PMs, maintaining inventories, and ensuring safety tasks are completed on time, while adhering to CQI, 5S, yield, and cost containment goals

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of vocational training and a minimum of 10 years on-job experience.
• Knowledge of ultrapure water treatment systems.
• General mechanical aptitude and systems troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of industrial waste discharge and hazardous waste management programs.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs on a frequent basis.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all plant systems according to engineering specification.
• Assist in developing strategies to improve the operation of the plant.
• Act as primary point of contact for Facilities maintenance issues and requests.
• Act in a self-directed fashion to complete all PMs and work duties as assigned by the automated system and the Facilities Lead Technician.
• Maintain piece part and operational inventories to ensure continuous operation of all physical plant systems.
• Ensure that all preventative maintenance and safety related tasks are completed on time.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized facility.
• Support company initiatives, such as; quality, safety and environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield management, and cost containment.
• Daily work in a waterplant area, frequently wearing chemical protective garments and personal protective equipment in performance of daily activities.
• Frequent daily exposure to hazardous chemicals/materials, odors, and loud noises. Frequent work in all areas of the facility: cleanroom, penthouses, and dock locations with exposure to a wide temperature ranges.
• Daily preventative maintenance activities on physical plant equipment, vacuum pumps air handlers, Clean Dry air compressors, exhaust fans, all plant support mechanics.
• Perform other duties as required
