Job summary

Polar Semiconductor, Inc. in Bloomington, MN, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support equipment in a manufacturing facility.

You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex systems, diagnose issues, and collaborate with process engineers and technicians to keep tooling available. The role requires a BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical fields, at least two years of maintenance experience, and knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and SPC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical related fields.
• Minimum two years' experience maintaining equipment.
• Knowledge of electronics, control systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and vacuum systems.
• Skill in diagnosing equipment issues and using test/calibration tools (e.g., oscilloscope, DMM).
• Understanding of SPC principles and ability to analyze process data.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to operate and use common hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required safety training and follow safety policies.
• Develop high level troubleshooting skills and proliferate across maintenance department.
• Work with OEMs/vendors for equipment support.
• Ensure proper stocking/pricing of crib parts.
• Update controlled documentation (PM procedures, check-sheets, work instructions).
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment per manuals and schematics.
• Interact between process engineering and maintenance technicians.
• Engage in systematic troubleshooting to identify root-causes of failures.
• Minimize tool downtime and increase equipment availability.
• Document maintenance activities in Equipment Management System.
• Drive CQI and cost reduction projects.
• Monitor, analyze, and address SPC issues.
• Support and maintain 5S activities.
• Communicate issues to the team and production staff.
• Partner with production team members and area engineers to support equipment.

Job Duties

• Complete all required safety training and conduct all work in accordance with safety policies.

• Work with OEM's/vendors for equipment support
• Ensure proper stocking/pricing of crib parts
• Provide content for, and submit updates for controlled documentation (PM procedures, check-sheets, work instructions, etc.)
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment according to operating manuals, schematics, blueprints, etc.
• Safely perform work in a hazardous environment utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (including SCBA or respirator).
• Interface between process engineering and maintenance technicians
• Engage in systematic troubleshooting to identify root-cause of failures.
• Minimize tool down-time and variability to increase equipment availability.
• Document all maintenance activities in Equipment Management System.
• Drive CQI and cost reduction projects
• Monitor, analyze, and address SPC issues.
• Support and maintain 5S activities.
• Communicate issues effectively to the all team members.
• Partner with Production team members and area engineers to support equipment

Requirements

• Knowledge of electronics and control systems, mechanics/robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics and vacuum systems.
• Skill in diagnosing equipment issues
• Knowledge of test and calibration equipment (i.e. O-scopes, DMMs).
• Understanding of SPC principles.
• PC skills and familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to properly use common hand tools.
• Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to multi-task complex projects.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical related fields
• Minimum two years' experience maintaining equipment

Preferred

• Experience on AMAT Centura, TEL UnityMe+, or LAM2300 systems.
• Project Management experience
• Knowledge of SPC

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work in a clean room environment, utilize tools that require turning, twisting and manipulating, and wear clean room attire (bunny suit, booties, gloves, mask and protective eye-wear). Exposure to hazardous chemicals and high voltage electricity. Emergency response team.

What We Offer

• Salary: The estimated base salary range for the position is $80,000-$128,000. The pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, job‑related experience, skills and level of the position.
