Job summary

Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG in Michigan is seeking a skilled facilities technician to perform servicing and preventive maintenance on building equipment.

You will use SAP and MS Office to document activities, read electrical and mechanical drawings, and coordinate with external vendors for repairs and commissioning. The role requires 3–5 years of related experience or vocational training, with desired forklift license, welding, and pipe threading skills.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of related experience and/or vocational training.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Familiarity with ISO 14001, TS 16949, and OSHA requirements.
  • Computer skills including SAP, Microsoft Office, and Excel. Fork truck license desired.
  • Welding skills desired.
  • Experience cutting and threading pipe for air lines desired.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume production environment and support a variety of facility maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing and preventative maintenance on building equipment according to service and control instructions.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to support and document maintenance activities.
  • Determine when external services are required for facility and building equipment.
  • Support external suppliers and vendors during rebuilding, repair, and commissioning of building equipment and verify the quality of completed work.
  • Assist the Facility Manager with remodeling and facility maintenance activities, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, painting, building repairs, and plumbing.
  • Apply knowledge of industrial electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Identify and propose job- and organization-related improvements.
  • Assist with equipment installation, including production and communication equipment, modifications, and fabrication.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and applicable safety requirements within the work area.
  • Support the availability and reliability of building equipment and infrastructure in a high-volume production environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Facility Manager.
