Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

Compensation: Annual salary, up to 40 days/yr paid time off, health, dental, vision and group life insurance, stock options, 401k

Position Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Facilities Manager and will be a key stakeholder in overseeing and performing the maintenance, security, and services of several multiuse facilities to ensure they meet the needs of our organization and its employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities and equipment maintenance, preferably within an industrial setting, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Requires working on-site in Los Alamos and Pojoaque, NM.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Repairs: Oversee routine maintenance and repairs of equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, building infrastructure, including coordinating with external contractors when needed.
• Space Management: Optimize the use of space within the facility, manufacturing, storage, and office areas. Execute relocations, refurbishments, and space reconfigurations.
• Vendor Management: Be an onsite contact for vendors, contractors, and service providers for equipment maintenance, supplies, and other facility-related services.
• Other Duties as Needed: Be flexible and adaptable to solve problems as they appear.

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and work collegially and collaboratively in a team environment, while providing exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to routinely move equipment, supplies, and furniture up to 50 pounds.
• Residence in or re-location close to Los Alamos, NM
• Be eligible to work in the USA and over the age of 18

Desired Qualifications

• 3+ years experience working facilities or maintenance, preferably in an industrial setting
• Ability to repair and rebuild vacuum systems, small motors/pumps, and/or equipment
• Degree/certification in Facilities or Engineering, or technical certification in a trade
• Experience in equipment automation and chemical manufacturing
• Forklift operator training and experience
• Spanish bilingual or proficient
