Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Our Maintenance Technician is tasked with repairing a variety of kitchen equipment, managing HVAC systems to guarantee functionality, and participating in the general upkeep of multiple facilities. This position reports to the Director of Facilities. The ideal candidate will be a jack‑of‑all‑trades, with specialty knowledge in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and/or plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and repairs on building equipment, including HVAC systems, walk‑in coolers/freezers, motors, compressors, and kitchen equipment.
• Mechanical equipment repair: oiling, greasing, belt replacement, and general cleaning of equipment. Lifting objects heavier than 40 lbs. Understanding technology‑based systems and navigating these systems, such as email, Microsoft Office, and apps that integrate with a smartphone.
• Driving from restaurant to restaurant and traveling overnight as required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record, current auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle (auto expense reimbursement program in place).
• General facilities maintenance knowledge and skills.
• Effective written and oral communication; sound decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Will‑and‑can‑do attitude, self‑motivated.
