Job summary

Ajulia Executive Search is seeking a reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician in Durham, NC to perform installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs across facility and manufacturing equipment. The role supports regulatory compliance and interacts with vendors for specialized services.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC/mechanical, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environments is valuable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors and internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Install & Repair: Perform facility and equipment installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Work on boilers, chillers, dust collectors, air-handling units, compressed-air systems, fire alarm systems, and other facility equipment.
  • Multi-trade Work: Handle basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and light construction tasks.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair facility/manufacturing equipment; respond to emergency repairs.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance per company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring: Monitor facility and manufacturing equipment to identify operational issues.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with outside vendors/contractors when specialized services are required.
  • Documentation: Maintain work orders, PM checklists, blueprints, permits, and other documentation.
  • Regulatory Support: Participate in inspections with FDA, EPA, fire department, and utility authorities.
  • Emergency Support: Provide after-hours/weekend emergency support when needed.
