Job summary

Planned Parenthood Southeast, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in the Metro Atlanta area. The role oversees building maintenance and repair to keep environments safe and functional for staff, patients, and visitors.

You will work under the VP of Facilities and Security, coordinating preventive maintenance and supporting ongoing O&M projects, with responsibilities including logging work and ensuring compliance with PPSE standards.

Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade/Vocational school preferred.
  • Three to five years of progressive field experience.
  • Experience coordinating vendors for maintenance/repair services.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure PPSE centers and facilities are safe and meet standards of appearance and comfort.
  • Assist VP of Facilities and Security in managing O&M projects.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance for HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems across PPSE locations.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, service records and tickets.
  • Execute safe work practices including ladder safety and lifting.

Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Metro Atlanta

Reports To: VP of Facilities and Security

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Salary: $32.96 - $35.71

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Facilities and Security, this position is responsible for ensuring all agency building maintenance and repair activities are completed efficiently, effectively, and in a timely manner, while maintaining a safe and functional environment for employees, patients and visitors. This role will also support Facilities leadership on the maintenance of O&M projects from concept to completion.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  1. High-school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Trade/Vocational school preferred.
  3. Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive increasing field experience.
  4. Experience coordinating vendors for maintenance/repair services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures all PPSE centers and facilities are safe, working conditions and meet PPSE standards of appearance and comfort.
  • Assist Vice President of Facilities and Security in managing O&M projects.
  • Coordinate all required preventative maintenance within the Service Level Agreements on HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems at all PPSE locations.
  • Maintain all maintenance logs, service records and work tickets are current, accurate and accessible.
  • Execute safe work practices for the job, including safe ladder practices, heat stroke and safe lifting etc.
  • Provide feedback on efficiency of work orders and maintain triage of tickets based on priority levels
  • Work with project team to execute maintenance and medical equipment
  • Coordinate and inspect 3rd party services and repairs to ensure facilities are maintained to PPSE standards, and are completed within the terms of the Service Level Agreements.
  • Liaison with vendors to see that preventative maintenance is accomplished on UPS equipment and generators.
  • Assist in the adjustments and installations needed for new construction.
  • Available to be on call for assistance or directions needed for repairs in clinics for facilities maintenance workers.
  • As necessary, will personally perform building maintenance including but not limited to:
    • Painting
    • Minor wall repairs
    • Floor maintenance/replacement
    • Carpet maintenance/replacement
    • Minor plumbing
    • Lighting, ballast replacement, retrofitting
    • Grounds keeping (Sweep/Hose off front entrances and sidewalk
    • Report/Clean any graffiti, clean plant beds, pull weeds & water plants
  • Available to be on call for assistance or directions needed for repairs in clinics for facilities maintenance workers
  • Participate in the onboarding and training of new facilities team members.
  • Provide support when needed for emergency maintenance issues that may interfere with patient care and/or on-site staff safety.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the VP of Facilities and Security.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to see, hear, speak, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, reach, grasp, finger, and drive on a continual basis. The position also requires frequent lifting and carrying of heavy items, including items up to 50 pounds.
