Job summary

Tate Branch Artesia is seeking a Maintenance Person to ensure that the building premises remain in good, safe operational order. You will inspect interiors and exteriors, perform minor repairs, and coordinate outside services for major or specialized repairs.

The position requires a one-year certificate or equivalent, a current driver\'s license, and the ability to follow safety rules, read maintenance instructions, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent.
• Three to six months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the interior and exterior of all buildings on the premises for wear or damages that require repair or equipment replacement.
• Record specific requests from managers for repairs. Identify whether it is a minor repair which can be handled internally or if necessary receive required bids from outside sources for major, or specialized repair.
• Make minor repairs.
• Replace defective or worn items (e.g., light bulbs).
• Schedule and monitor approved major repairs done by outside contractors.
• Understand and keep current of federal, state and local regulations that affect building operations such as OSHA, etc.

Education

One year certificate from college or technical school

Three to six months related experience and/or training
