Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network, Inc. provides general facility management tasks including inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role supports the Facilities Management department across Cedar Crest locations.

The position requires hands-on maintenance, reading blueprints, and using building automation and CMMS systems. Evening shifts and a Tuesday–Saturday schedule are part of the workload, with an emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience.
• Technical School Diploma in a trade (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) is a plus.
• 3 years experience in a related trade or less than 1 year with Technical School Diploma.
• Ability to perform trade skills in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor maintenance of plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment and systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Responds to trouble calls and emergencies.
• Assists department colleagues of all trades.
• Uses CMMS to document time and work completed.

Summary

Provides general facility management tasks to include inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment.

Job Duties

• Performs minor maintenance of plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, systems, structures and other general maintenance.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Responds to trouble calls, work requests and emergency situations.
• Assists department colleagues of all trades.
• Utilizes the CMMS work order system and documents time and work completed in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with required years of experience or
• Technical School Diploma in a specific trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC
• 3 years experience in a related trade or
• Less than 1 year with Technical School Diploma
• Ability to perform trade skills typically associated with plumbing, electrical, and mechanical operations as well as carpentry and other general maintenance.
• Ability to read circuitry, wiring diagrams, schematics, and operations of mechanical systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply codes and standards enforced by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
• Computer skills to include computerized maintenance systems, building automation, email, education.
• DL - Driver’s License_PA - State of Pennsylvania

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree
• 2 years Healthcare facility maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of how to work in a healthcare environment related to risk such as infection control, general and life safety, and patient satisfaction.

Physical Demands

Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
