Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with required years of experience or Technical School Diploma in related field.
• 3 years experience as a commercial electrician or Less than 1 year with Technical School Diploma.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs electrical systems including wiring, lighting, nurse call, fire alarm, intercom.
• Troubleshoots hazards or malfunctions and replaces damaged parts and equipment.
• Inspects wiring, cables and panels; ensures labeling and secure panels.
• Performs testing and inspections for emergency back-ups per NFPA and Joint Commission.
• Performs preventive maintenance as needed.
• Responds to trouble calls and emergencies.
• Assists colleagues across trades in maintenance tasks.
• Uses CMMS to record work and times promptly.
• Maintains inventory and sources parts for repairs.

Summary

Performs skilled work in installation, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and circuitry. Performs inspections, testing and preventative maintenance of electrical and other equipment. Provides other facility maintenance.

Job Duties

• Provides maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components, including but not limited to wiring, lighting, nurse call, fire alarm, pneumatic tube, intercom, etc.
• Troubleshoots to identify hazards or malfunctions and repairs or replaces damaged parts and equipment.
• Maintains system integrity by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring, insulated cables, cleaning circuits; ensuring breaker and panel labeling, spare breakers in the "off" position, panels locked.
• Performs testing and inspections and maintains records for emergency back-up systems as required by NFPA and The Joint Commission.
• Performs preventive maintenance as needed.
• Responds to trouble calls, work requests, and emergency situations.
• Performs minor maintenance of plumbing, mechanical equipment, HVAC, systems, structures and other general maintenance.
• Assists department colleagues of all trades.
• Utilizes the CMMS work order system and documents time and work completion in a timely manner.
• Maintains inventory and acquires parts as needed to perform repairs.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED with required years of experience or Technical School Diploma in related field 3 years experience as a commercial electrician or Less than 1 year with Technical School Diploma Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints Ability to determine causes of operating errors Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Knowledge of electrical systems, electrical codes, and safety regulations General knowledge in electrical control, communication and power distribution systems DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania

Preferred Qualifications

3 years electrical experience in a hospital setting

Physical Demands

Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
