Job summary

ABM is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine building maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and painting tasks at a school campus. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 2 years of facilities maintenance experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented.
• Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
• Ability to climb heights, lift up to 60 lbs., and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the building.
• Apply and maintain paint on school buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Pressure washing and keeping grounds around the campus clean and debris free.
• Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance (contracted work).
• Receive and respond to reports of mechanical or maintenance issues on their premises.
• Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete tasks or projects.
• Proficient with instruments and tools required for job responsibilities.
• Execute and complete maintenance work order requests from the designated school.
