Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician II to help keep our centers safe, functional, and inviting. The role involves preventative maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and basic carpentry, along with safety inspections and coordinating vendor repairs.

You will collaborate with center staff, support renovations, and manage work orders using a CMMS, contributing to a high-quality child care environment across locations.

Qualifications

• HVAC, plumbing, playgrounds, roofing in a multi-unit environment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment; basic preventive maintenance knowledge.
• Qualified to operate a company vehicle per policy.
• Strong time management, professional communication, and organization.
• Ability to read facility maintenance manuals, drawings, and specs.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and with others.
• Experience with electronic devices used in maintenance (phones, tablets, laptops).

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Conduct safety inspections of playgrounds and property.
• Assist with renovations and new construction inspections.
• Engage with staff to promote best maintenance practices.
• Coordinate with local vendors for complex repairs and monitor performance.
• Create/update work orders and track status in CMMS.
