Job summary

Bell County in Central Texas is seeking a maintenance technician to service county facilities, including a detention site. You will inspect, repair and install electrical, plumbing and carpentry systems, plan wiring layouts, and respond to emergency calls as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of related maintenance experience, and a valid Texas driver’s license. Read, write and speak English proficiently are required. This is full-time with market hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Two years of experience in building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, alarm systems or related maintenance.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Read, write and speak English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and schedules; maintains standards and records.
• Performs maintenance/diagnostic services for carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems in county facilities.
• Plans wiring layouts, installs wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in buildings.
• Responds to 24 hr. emergency and non-emergency service calls and conducts repairs as needed.
• Maintains surveillance systems and prepares reports and work orders.
