Job summary

CommUnityCare in Austin, TX is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician I to perform make-ready duties and maintenance across offices and clinic areas. The role covers painting, carpentry, basic electrical, plumbing, and equipment moves, with teamwork and safety adherence.

You will troubleshoot minor electrical issues, replace lighting, train junior staff, and lead small projects. A valid TX driver’s license and OSHA/CHT certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 Year Experience in general maintenance, including locking out electrical circuits, troubleshooting HVAC systems, painting, and carpentry.
• Texas Class C Driver's License.
• Insurance coverage on personal vehicle used for work.
• OSHA 30 Hour Course within 1 year.
• CHT Certified Healthcare Technician within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Works on multiple facility systems with limited supervision.
• Leads projects, orders supplies, and calls vendors.
• Utilizes hand and power tools; trains new employees.
• Trains lower-level maintenance technicians.
• Troubleshoots power outages, repairs electrical problems, changes light fixtures.
• Drives company and personal vehicles as needed.
• Replaces glass in doors/windows and leads related projects.
• Operates and trains staff on power tools and equipment such as lifts and drills.
• Performs basic service on pumps, air handlers, cooling towers.
• Operates, troubleshoots, and repairs door systems including locks.
• Supports facilities team by communicating needs to coordinator/Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
