Job summary

University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Worker I for the ECH - Plant and Housekeeping department in New York. Primary shift is Evening (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) with 40 standard hours per week. The role involves daily rounds, repairs, and assisting facilities staff across the complex.

A high school diploma and driver’s license are required; asbestos O&M certification is preferred. Salary range listed: $21.26–$31.89 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Driver’s License required.
• Good mechanical knowledge, vocational school helpful.
• Ability to follow written instructions in reference to work orders, constructing, installations, etc.
• Ability to safely use hand and some power tools.
• Ability to communicate well with managers, co-workers, hospital staff, patients and visitors.
• Conducts him/herself as a self-directed professional, courteous attitude, works independently with minimal supervision, and strive for continuous quality improvement.
• NYS certification for Asbestos O&M preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Maintenance Worker I position requires an individual that is responsible for daily rounds throughout the complex noting and repairing all items logged at each department location.
• The individual also will be involved with other day to day operational projects and assist other facilities staff as assigned.
