Job summary

Detroit Transportation Corporation is looking for a Facilities and Maintenance Technician I in Detroit. This role involves performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and reliability of DPM vehicles and facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, some labor experience, and must be able to work in varying environmental conditions. Responsibilities include cleaning, debris removal, and assisting with light repairs.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Some general labor experience, preferably in building maintenance.
• Preferred: May be exposed to a hazardous environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans interior and exterior of DPM vehicles and administrative areas.
• Picks up and delivers material between vendors and maintenance personnel.
• Removes debris from guideway, storm sewers, and drains.
• Performs custodial work inside and outside buildings.
• Operates motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.

Skills

Ability to read and write basic instructions

Ability to perform snow removal and de-icing

Knowledge of safety procedures for powered equipment

Ability to utilize equipment and tools

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
