Job summary

The Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida in Orlando seeks a Facilities Maintenance Specialist I to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children and families.

You will complete preventive, corrective, and emergency work orders, troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and structural issues, perform minor carpentry and painting, and support fire safety and regulatory compliance while collaborating with the facilities team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Less than one year of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety knowledge.
• Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, perform physical work, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to work 2nd shift, Monday - Friday and other times as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work orders.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and structural issues.
• Perform minor carpentry, painting, and wall repairs.
• Inspect and maintain facility equipment and emergency systems.
• Support fire, life-safety, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Maintain safe work areas and collaborate with facilities team members.
