Job summary

Piedmont Community College is seeking a Facilities Maintenance assistant in Roxboro, NC. You will support the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment, and perform routine maintenance and custodial tasks as part of daily operations.

Responsibilities include painting, landscaping, equipment operation, material delivery, and ensuring safe working conditions. A valid driver's license and forklift certification (or within 180 days) are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related maintenance experience required.
• Valid state driver?s license required.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance trades (carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical).
• Able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine inside/outside painting; mowing, pruning and other landscaping tasks; moving furniture; minor repairs to buildings and systems.
• Operates power equipment, mowers, and automotive equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance and upkeep of mechanical equipment and appliances.
• Assists with delivery and pick-up of materials by the Receiving Department.
• Performs routine custodial duties as needed.
• Observes safe working conditions.
• Maintains professional appearance.
• Position may require opening campus for daily operations and after-hours support.
