Job summary

Orangeburg County is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to perform electrical, plumbing and general building upkeep across municipal facilities. You will work under supervision, applying hand and power tools to repair, install and maintain systems.

Responsibilities include repairing lights and fixtures, plumbing lines, drywall, painting, door hardware, and operating heavy equipment as needed. A valid driver’s license is required; two years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in commercial electrical maintenance or related work.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance including repair of lights, receptacles, breakers and switches; run new lines; troubleshoot systems.
• Perform plumbing maintenance such as repairing water lines, commodes, faucets; replace valves and sewer lines.
• Maintain buildings: drywall, tile, roofing, ceiling tiles; operate heavy machinery to move equipment.
• Repair doors and locks; paint walls; other duties as assigned.
