Orangeburg County is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to service and repair electrical, plumbing and building systems in commercial facilities.
The role requires hands-on work with a variety of tools, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to lift heavy loads and operate maintenance vehicles as needed. This full-time position offers stable employment with benefits and opportunities for growth.
The purpose of this job is to perform skilled labor using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment in the maintenance of general commercial buildings.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Requires two (2) years of experience in commercial electrical maintenance, manual labor, street maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Performs medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
