Job summary

New Horizon Resources in Pleasant Valley, NY, seeks a Maintenance Worker to supervise interior/exterior upkeep of Dutchess/Ulster residences and offices. The role involves coordinating external maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and responding to emergencies on a rotation.

Requirements include a high school diploma with 3 years in maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm, with occasional flexibility.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance work and ability to engage in physical activity.
• Skills in grounds maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.
• Working knowledge of tools and machinery.
• Prepare and submit documentation of routine maintenance projects.
• Preventative Maintenance Planning to improve safety and home-like atmosphere.
• Ability to coordinate outside services.
• Professional conduct with staff, individuals served, and contractors.
• Must speak/read/write English for communication with staff and visitors.
• High school diploma or equivalent and three years of maintenance experience.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• Completion of New Horizon Resources training such as orientation, First Aid, CPR, Rights & Abuse, Corporate Compliance and Defensive Driving.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance (interior/exterior) of Dutchess/Ulster residences, farm, sites, and Admin Office.
• Oversee contracted maintenance services with outside companies.
• Ensure environment complies with State/Federal regulations.
• Provide 24-hour emergency on-call rotation for maintenance issues.
• Perform related maintenance tasks including heating/AC, lighting, fire alarms, appliances, and painting.
