Job summary

Primary duties involve monitoring water treatment, refrigeration systems, electrical systems, and startup of production equipment, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance in a no-kill food processing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
• At least 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and fix electrical issues.
• English reading, writing, and speaking required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor water treatment facility performance for regulatory compliance.
• Monitor refrigeration system and maintain temperatures per specs.
• Inspect electrical systems and troubleshoot faults with basic testing tools.
• Install and startup production machines and plant equipment.
• Resolve maintenance problems promptly to minimize production disruption.
• Follow lock out/tag out procedures and perform equipment PMs.
• Keep maintenance history logs and required paperwork.

JBS is seeking an hourlyFacilities Maintenance Tech 2nd shiftTeam Member! Position starts at $25-$35 per hour based on experience. Facility Maintenance Technician performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards. To be a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• 1. Monitor the water treatment facility's performance to ensure effective treatment and maintain facility's regulatory compliance.
• 2. Monitor the refrigeration system and adjust maintain proper cold room and freezing tunnel temperatures with little to no supervision. Must maintain equipment for peak efficiency, and power saving while meeting the requirements of OHSA's PSM, and the EPA's RMP programs.
• 3. Routinely inspectingelectricalsystems such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances utilizing basic electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and mega ohmmeters Identifying faults or hazards. Troubleshooting system failures. Reviewing blueprints to understand wiring placement. Conductingmaintenance repairs on old or faulty fixtures.
• 4. Perform highly diversified duties to install and start up production machines and other plant equipment.
• 5. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
• 6. Follows all lock out, tag out procedures.
• 7. Performs equipment PM’s
• 8. Keeps record of all work performed.
• 9. Updates maintenance history logs and completes the required paperwork.
• 10. Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repair.
• 11. Understands and follows the company GMP policy.
• 12. Understands and follows the company safety rules
• 13. Cleans and maintains work area.
• 14. May be required to work long hours and weekends.
• 15. May assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent certification
• At least 3-5 year of industrial maintenance experience required.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.
• Ability to trouble shoot and fix electrical issues.
• Wastewater treatment plant experience preferred.
• Possesses the skills needed to repair, maintain and trouble shoot machinery.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be well-organized with good attention to detail.
• Display strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others.
• Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.

Work Environment

ACTIVITIES: Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

HEARING: Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

REPETITIVE MOTION: Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

VISUAL ABILITIES: Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with a partner throughout the day.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are around 34 degrees fahrenheit, and employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their workdays.
