Job summary

Carter BloodCare is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 to perform routine maintenance, upkeep and repair of our properties and equipment under supervision.

You will handle light documentation and work orders, lift up to 50 pounds, and use industry tools. A valid Texas driver’s license is required, with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year in facility maintenance.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record acceptable.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Defensive Driving Course must be completed within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, upkeep and repair of Carter BloodCare properties and equipment.
• Handle minor documentation and work orders for facility maintenance records.
• Use industry-related tools and equipment as needed.
• Assist with basic carpentry, painting and sheetrock repairs.
• Support a safe, efficient work environment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITYUnder the direction of the Manager, Facilities (Manager), the Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 (Technician) will be under general supervision. This position must be able to perform work of a fairly routine nature, requiring a reasonable amount of judgment in performing the daily preventative maintenance, upkeep, and repair of Carter BloodCare’s properties and equipment. The Technician must have the ability to handle minor documentation and paperwork regarding facility maintenance records or work orders.A valid Texas driver’s license is required, as well as an acceptable driving record (as specified in the current Carter BloodCare Vehicle Safety Loss Control Guide).Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours.EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GEDEXPERIENCEMinimum of one years’ experience in facility maintenanceSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEAbility to lift, up to 50 poundsKnowledge of the use of industry-related tools and equipmentAbility to follow oral and written instructionsBasic electrical/mechanical knowledgeBasic sheetrock repair and painting; minor carpentry, a plusMust possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
