Job summary

The Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center in College Station, Texas is seeking an Engineer to assist guests with maintenance requests, identify problems, and complete work orders and preventive maintenance on equipment.

This full-time position runs primarily 3PM–11:30PM (approximately 30+ hours/week). Candidates must be prepared to work football game days, Ring Days, graduations, and other high-occupancy events; compensation is $18 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing blueprints.
  • Perform work order tasks and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain logs and complete duty rounds checklists.

About the Property

The Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center in College Station, Texas, proudly managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality, houses 250 guest rooms, 23 flexible meeting rooms, and 35,000sqft of meeting space. The property hosts a variety of guests and events.

Job Summary

The Engineer at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center in College Station, Texas assists guests with maintenance or other requests, identifying and correcting problems. The role includes performing various work order tasks and preventive maintenance on equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Resolves guest’s problems and handles all guest requests.
  • Identifies problems, initiates work orders, accomplishes assigned work orders, and performs necessary repairs.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and maintains logs in an organized manner.
  • Completes duty rounds checklists, reports, and corrects noted problems.
  • Uses office equipment, EMS system, and Life Safety Systems (training provided).
  • Performs swimming pool chemical tests, makes corrections, and has a working knowledge of pool equipment (training provided).
Responsibilities

  • Perform various work order tasks and preventive maintenance on equipment.
Schedule

Full‑time: 30+ hours per week, depending on business forecast. Shift options primarily 3PM–11:30PM, varying between AM and PM (projected 8 hours a day). Employees must be available and expected to work TexasA&M football game days, Ring Days, graduations, and other high‑occupancy times due to special events. Overtime may be required when business levels call for it.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience in a similar job in the hospitality industry (preferred).
  • Certified pool operator (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing blueprints.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
