JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a top-notch Banquet Manager to lead a variety of high-end events throughout the year aligned with our world-class Howdy Hospitality. The Banquet Manager will supervise the overall operations for the food and beverage services required for on-site catered events and off-site catered events, which include food service, beverage service, and event set-up.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salaried position, paid biweekly. Extensive health benefits, paid time off, retirement, tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts at hundreds of US and international properties.

SCHEDULE

The hospitality industry is 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days of the year. All candidates must be available and are expected to work Texas A&M football game days, Ring Days, graduations, and other high occupancy times due to special events. We strive hard to manage and minimize overtime, but it should and will be expected when business levels call for it. Full-time: 40+ hours per week depending on level of business forecasted. Days of week/weekend scheduled will vary depending on level of business forecasted.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Guest Experience & Service Excellence

Champion a culture focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences across all outlets. Ensure consistently high guest satisfaction scores and online review ratings. Actively engage with guests and resolve service concerns promptly and professionally. Establish and maintain service standards that exceed brand and guest expectations. Lead initiatives that enhance guest loyalty, repeat business, and community engagement.

Financial Performance

Achieve annual revenue, profit, and flow-through goals for all outlets. Manage labor costs through effective scheduling, staffing models, productivity monitoring, and workforce planning. Control beverage costs and operating expenses through purchasing discipline, inventory management, and waste reduction programs. Analyze financial statements, labor reports, productivity metrics, and outlet performance trends. Develop and execute strategies to improve profitability while maintaining service standards.

Leadership & Team Development

Recruit, train, coach, and develop high-performing teams. Conduct regular performance reviews and succession planning discussions. Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Identify and develop future leaders within the department.

Training & Talent Development

Develop and maintain comprehensive onboarding and training programs for all positions. Conduct ongoing service, beverage, sales, leadership, and operational training. Ensure all managers consistently coach and train their teams. Monitor training effectiveness and implement corrective action as needed. Training is a critical success factor for this position, and the Outlet General Manager is expected to make team development a top operational priority.

Revenue Growth & Business Development

Develop and execute revenue-generating initiatives across all outlets. Create programming and promotional events designed to drive traffic and increase average guest spend. Identify opportunities for upselling, beverage program enhancements, and local market engagement. Collaborate with hotel leadership to maximize internal guest capture and outlet utilization. Analyze market trends and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.

Marketing & Community Engagement

Partner with the Marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, seasonal offerings, special events, and outlet positioning strategies. Support social media initiatives, local partnerships, and community outreach efforts. Ensure marketing efforts align with business objectives and revenue targets. Participate in hotel-wide initiatives that drive food and beverage visibility and performance.

Beverage Program Management

Oversee beverage operations including inventory management, ordering, cost controls, and profitability. Partner with vendors and distributors to optimize product selection and pricing. Maintain beverage quality standards and ensure compliance with all alcohol service regulations. Develop innovative beverage promotions and seasonal offerings.

Operational Excellence

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations. Maintain outstanding cleanliness, presentation, and operational standards across all outlets. Continuously evaluate processes for efficiency improvements and cost savings. Monitor staffing levels, service execution, and operational readiness. Serve as Manager-on-Duty as required.

What are we looking for?
Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years of progressive restaurant or hospitality management experience.
  • Multi-unit food and beverage management experience preferred.
  • Proven success managing restaurant, bar, and high-volume beverage operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing labor and controllable expenses.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop management teams.
  • Experience driving revenue growth through promotions, events, and guest engagement initiatives.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred
  • Hotel food and beverage leadership experience.
  • Experience overseeing coffee shop operations.
  • Knowledge of beverage cost management and inventory controls.
  • Experience with POS systems, scheduling software, and financial reporting tools.
Compensation
