Job summary

Saint Cecelia Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and dependable member to join our Facilities & Maintenance team to help keep our parish campus running smoothly. This role offers the chance to perform hands-on maintenance, event preparation, and general upkeep in a faith-centered community.

Excellent self-starter with pride in workmanship; must pass Level II FBI Background Screening and Safe Environment Training.

Qualifications

• Previous facilities, maintenance, custodial, or event setup experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the parish grounds, church, parish facilities, and parish center.
• Follow established checklists to complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks thoroughly.
• Complete facility setups based on the parish calendar and use facility usage forms to anticipate event needs.
• Work cooperatively with maintenance team, parish staff, ministry leaders, event coordinators, volunteers, and parishioners.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and proper cleaning practices.
• Take initiative, work independently, follow instructions, and perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance as needed.
• Assist with other facilities-related duties and special projects.

Saint Cecelia Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and dependable addition to our Facilities & Maintenance team to help keep our beautiful and active parish campus running smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to put their hands‑on skills to meaningful use. From routine facilities care and maintenance to preparing spaces for parish events, your work will directly support our parish community, ministries, and guests.

Because this position directly supports our Catholic community and may involve working in parish youth spaces, practicing Catholics are preferred. The selected candidate must successfully complete a Level II FBI Background Screeningand all required Safe Environment Training prior to employment.

Background Screening & Safe Environment Requirements

• Must successfully pass a Level II FBI Background Screening.
• Must complete all required Safe Environment Trainingprior to employment.
• Practicing Catholic applicants preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be in good physical condition and able to perform moderate physical work.
• Ability to lift and carry 20-50 pounds.
• Ability to climb, bend, push, pull, stand, and walk for extended periods as needed.
• Ability to safely perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and facility setup tasks.
