Job summary

The Arboretum of Winnie is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and develop the facilities maintenance team, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations. You will oversee HVAC, water systems, boilers, and laundry equipment while managing budgets and coordinating with contractors.

Availability to supervise preventive maintenance programs, train staff, and schedule department staffing to meet census needs is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in facility maintenance (healthcare or long-term care preferred).
• Understands HVAC, boiler, water systems, and emergency systems.
• Able to implement and manage a preventive maintenance program.
• Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.
• Capable of managing supply ordering and departmental budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance operations: hire, train, and supervise maintenance team members.
• Promote safety and compliance: conduct and document fire system inspections and coordinate monthly fire drills.
• Oversee preventive maintenance: develop and implement a preventive maintenance program.
• Maintain equipment: inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, laundry equipment, and generators.
• Manage supplies and budget: order maintenance supplies and equipment while adhering to budget guidelines.
• Supervise contractors: oversee and coordinate work by external contractors.
• Maintain standards: ensure the facility and its equipment are safe, operational, and compliant with all regulations.
• Train staff: provide job-specific training and promote adherence to safety procedures.
• Coordinate schedules: plan department staffing according to census needs and labor budgets.
