Job summary

The Salvation Army Bushwick Corps is seeking a maintenance supervisor to coordinate and supervise maintenance staff in upkeep of buildings, grounds and equipment. The role handles electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems and related tasks to keep facilities in good order.

You will oversee deliveries, perform minor repairs, manage inventories, and coordinate renovations as needed. Strong supervisory and hands-on maintenance skills are essential for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma.
• 2+ years experience in general maintenance.
• Training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair or closely related.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to recognize electrical, plumbing, and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assigns the work of maintenance employees and volunteers.
• General maintenance of Salvation Army property including parking lot areas; General building upkeep.
• Receiving of all deliveries and ensuring they are securely packed and stored.
• Ability to perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Perform minor repairs such as ceiling work, tile changing, and leaks repairs.
• Clean and maintain the front of the building, keeping area free of garbage.
• Update inventories and other supplies as approved by the corps.
• Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs and maintains electrical, plumbing and related systems across department locations.
• General repairs such as painting, patching walls, security hardware, shelves, and landscaping.
