Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of building systems and boiler plants.
  • Ability to organize work and direct a wide range of personnel.
  • Experience in physical environment, environment of care, life safety and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the South Campus Engineering team to ensure quality of services.
  • Maintains operations within fiscal and productivity guidelines of the Hospital.
  • Directs South Campus Engineering personnel to achieve department goals.
  • Develops annual South Campus Engineering goals aligned with hospital mission.
  • Administers programs to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment per regulations and guidelines.

Come join the Engineering team at Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities.

Position Purpose:

Manages the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department on the South Campus in accordance with the overall vision and mission of the Hospital. Assures staff adherence to all department policies and procedures. Maintains logs and completes reports related to areas of responsibility.

What you will do:
  • Under the direction of the Manager of Engineering, supervises the operations of the South Campus Engineering team to ensure the quality of services provided.

  • Maintains the operations of the South Campus within the fiscal and productivity guidelines of the Hospital.

  • Under the direction of the Manager of Engineering supervises South Campus Engineering personnel to ensure the achievement of Department goals.

  • Develops and achieves annual South Campus Engineering goals and assign organizational objectives which support the Hospital goals and mission statement.

  • At the direction of the Manager of Engineering, develops and administers programs to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment in accordance with regulations and administrative guidelines; maintains the buildings in livable and workable conditions relative to heat, light, power, air conditioning and other broad environmental factors; directs the repair, construction and renovation of the Hospital's physical plant and its contents; administers a preventive maintenance program to facilitate uninterrupted service to patients and to assure safe conditions of employment for staff members.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent. Two to four (2-4) years in a maintenance management position, hospital experience preferred.

  • Licensed in one of the building trades preferred.

  • Complete understanding of building systems and boiler plants. Must be able to organize work and direct a wide range of personnel. Must practice effective interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in Physical Environment, Environment of care, life safety and regulatory compliance preferred.

Physical and Mental Effort:
  • Mental stress is encountered due to the professional demands of the position. Individuals must be able to understand and relate to theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given over long periods of time.

  • Position requires ability to frequently perform simple manipulative and hand-eye coordination skills; walk, sit and stand for prolonged periods; see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time.

  • Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
