Supervises the operation, maintenance, and repair of boiler house systems, plumbing systems, mechanical maintenance systems, equipment for Facilities Management which includes, but is not limited to, all water, sanitary, steam, gas, air handling systems, related fixed equipment, rolling and movable mechanical equipment, operations of the boiler plant, chiller plant, medical waste disposal system, and the hospital recycling program.
High School Diploma minimum, Vocational or Technical School Training in HVAC or Building Maintenance Preferred,
2 Year College Degree in HVAC or Engineering Technology is highly desirable
Five (5) years of progressively greater responsibility in supervision of operation ofan institutional steam generating facility and facilities maintenance.
Work Assignments:
- Writes MWO's for obvious defects noted while working, traveling between areas, or informed by other staff.
- Priorities MWO's based on a defined priority system.
- Make decisions determining if maintenance and repair can be completed by in house staff or contracted to other.
Supervise System Operations:
- Supervises the operation of the Boiler House, Plumbing, Mechanical Maintenance, Waste Management Departments while insuring adequate reliable systems, continuity of service maintenance and plant safety.
- Insures proper installation, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment and systems.
- Supervises Preventive Maintenance and safety programs for all Boiler House, Plumbing, Mechanical Maintenance and Waste Management equipment and systems.
- Maintains and inspects Boiler House, Plumbing, HVAC and Waste Management systems to insure adequate and reliable operations during both normal and emergency situations.
General Office Work:
- Assists in interviews with employees and potential employees.
- Required to attend both internal and external meetings and seminars.
-Keeps familiar with the Facilities Maintenance Department Procedures Manual.
Record Keeping:
-Maintains accurate records and manuals related to all Boiler House, Plumbing, Mechanical Maintenance and Waste Management Equipment and systems.
- Keeps time and attendance records of all staff.
-Evaluates staff performance.
-Maintains records related to staff activities and performance.
Pay Range:
$23.40 - 33.95
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.”
