Job summary

Navy Exchange Service Command in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a Maintenance Worker Supervisor (full time) to lead a team of 3–8 workers performing facilities maintenance including HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, and plumbing tasks.

The successful candidate will manage work schedules, supervise safety and quality, review performance, and coordinate with procurement for parts and equipment, ensuring timely completion of projects and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• One year of general maintenance experience involving upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, or equipment.
• Three years of maintenance work including painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
• Possession of a valid CDL with ability to meet DOT requirements and medical standards; pre-employment drug screening.
• Note: CDL with class B endorsement may be required for vehicle operation with gross weight ≥ 26,000 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs subordinate Maintenance Workers in maintenance and repair tasks (air conditioning, electrical, carpentry, painting, locksmith duties, etc.).
• Establishes work schedules, maintains time cards, approves leave, and conducts performance reviews; assigns work and sets priorities.
• Ensures safety and housekeeping rules are followed and maintains compliance with procedures and deadlines.
• Prepares drawings/sketches of proposed changes, estimates material and labor costs for major projects; prepares daily work sheets.
