Job summary

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is seeking a Facility Maintenance Specialist to oversee general maintenance across our facilities. This temporary-to-permanent role offers a pathway to full-time employment after 90 days, with typical hours 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

You will coordinate with the Facilities Manager and branch staff to prioritize issues, manage vendors, and ensure safety, food-safety compliance, and equipment reliability in a warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow SOPs.
• Must have a valid NC Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Experience as facility technician or in a warehouse setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate organizational maintenance tasks and prioritize Work Orders.
• Perform maintenance and repairs to facilities and equipment.
• Coordinate with Facilities Manager and branch staff to ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Select vendors, obtain estimates, and manage costs for projects.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous materials and compliance with SDS.
