Job summary

COMMUNITY ACTION, INC. of CENTRAL TEXAS is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Specialist to perform routine repairs and upkeep across agency facilities. The role supports operations, moves equipment, delivers supplies, and assists with training and event setup.

The position is regular part-time, Mon-Fri, 16-20 hours per week, with the salary range of $16.93 to $19.92 per hour, commensurate with experience and education. Reports to the Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Texas valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Ability to work with young children.
• Knowledge of operation and use of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of general maintenance methods, equipment and materials.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, orally and in writing.
• Basic Windows/Excel computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergencies and vehicle operations with the Head Start Operations Coordinator.
• Maintain agency vehicles and equipment and ensure safety checks.
• Repair minor plumbing and lighting; install office furniture and Bulletin boards.
• Move furniture, supplies and set up classrooms, meetings and events.
• Inspect buildings and report safety hazards.
• Manage time, attend meetings, and adapt to program needs.
