A vehicle and all tools necessary will be provided for this position.

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist- Advanced (FMS- Advanced) reports to the Buildings/Grounds Supervisor for Area 5, Green Bay. The position performs maintenance and repairs to building mechanical equipment. The FMS- Advanced performs advanced level electrical and plumbing maintenance and repairs, performs maintenance and repair to HVAC units and controls, steam lines, valves and associated equipment. Independently troubleshoots, performs diagnostic procedures and determines alternatives for repair or solves the requirement directly. The FMS- Advanced does maintenance, repairs and some small remodeling projects to the building structural components, grounds and pavement areas. The position may serve as a lead worker over personnel assigned to assist with these activities. In all activities the use and coordination of contractors may be required. Primary work location is Green Bay; however, work at other facility locations is required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Starting pay is $26.87/ hr.
This position is in the 03-13 pay schedule/range. A 12-month probation will be required.

Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a military driver’s license as a condition of continued employment. You will be trained on specific vehicles and will receive assistance to obtain the licensure if you do not already possess.
Must be physically able to lift and move objects in excess of 50 pounds.
Must be able to operate lift equipment and have no limitations for working in high areas.
Within one year of appointment, must obtain CFC universal Refrigerant Handling license.
Must adhere to safety practices utilized in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and general building maintenance, to include lock out/tag out. Ability to identify hazardous materials and situations. Take corrective measures when unsafe acts or conditions are observed.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The employee in this role shall wear eye and foot protection while conducting facility maintenance (excluding an office environment). (a) Eye Protection: eyewear shall meet American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z87.1 requirements (prescription safety glasses with side shields shall be attached where there are potential side impact or debris hazards). (b) Foot Protection: footwear shall meet American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) 2413 requirements. (c) All other PPE is based on potential job task and exposure.
In order to gain access to DMA facilities or air bases, and to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled, DMA will conduct a comprehensive background check.
The Department of Military Affairs does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.
This is a State of Wisconsin Civil Service position. The DMA does not require current or previous military experience.
All new permanent, project, and limited term employees will be required to report to Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) in Madison on the Monday of their first week of employment for the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program. Additional information will be sent to the new employees and their supervisors on the Tuesday prior to NEO.
