Job summary

The Washington Military Department is seeking a detailed-oriented Maintenance Custodian in Yakima, WA. The role focuses on cleaning, basic maintenance, and proactive problem-solving to keep facilities safe and functional.

Reporting to the Maintenance Mechanic 4 for the East Region, the position requires dependability and the ability to work independently. This civilian role does not require military affiliation.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in janitorial services, grounds maintenance, building maintenance, and/or construction.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, safety practices, and basic building trades.

Responsibilities

• Janitorial maintenance and routine cleanliness of assigned buildings and work areas.
• Routine minor maintenance on assigned buildings and equipment.
• Order supplies; transport solid waste to dumpsters.
