Job summary

Aperion Care is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate and oversee maintenance operations across the facility. You will manage repairs, preventive programs, and outside vendors to keep the environment safe and comfortable for residents.

Responsibilities include inspections, safety program supervision, and ensuring proper handling of confidential resident information. Strong blueprints, safety knowledge, and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school education or equivalent.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators and related building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to interact tactfully with staff, residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance services with other departments and report to the Administrator.
• Assist in preventive maintenance program establishment.
• Repair facility/resident property or coordinate with outside vendors as needed.
• Supervise outside vendors to ensure contracts/work orders are completed.
• Identify and document maintenance tasks related to exposure to bodily fluids.
• Inspect storage rooms, workrooms and closets for upkeep and supplies.
• Participate in facility surveys and develop correction plans for deficiencies.
• Suggest maintenance service adjustments to keep environment clean, safe, and comfortable.
• Ensure confidential handling of resident information and report violations.
• Supervise safety and fire prevention programs; inspect areas weekly.
• Ensure proper use of safety equipment when lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Maintain supplies and equipment to provide a safe environment; report damage.
• Develop and implement waste disposal policies for maintenance; follow PPE and infectious waste rules.
• Round to check equipment; monitor waste and efficiency.
• Ensure PPE for handling infectious materials is available to staff.
• Label or tag equipment contaminated with infectious material before repair or decontamination.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and report leaks of such information.
• Be prepared to handle emergencies (rescheduling, maintenance schedules, etc.).
• Ensure medical waste disposal per established procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
