Job summary

Essence Hospitality Group in Grand Rapids is seeking a Facilities Specialist to support Bistro Bella Vita, Grove and Lucy's. This hands-on role involves maintenance, minor repairs, and improvements across three restaurants, with a focus on keeping spaces safe, functional and well cared for.

Qualifications

• Dependable, capable, observant and willing to learn.
• Comfortable working independently from a prioritized task list.
• Able to use basic hand and power tools.
• Capable of tackling a variety of physical projects.
• Able to complete straightforward repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Ask questions when something is outside knowledge or skill level.
• Move between EHG restaurant locations as needed.
• Safely using ladders and performing physical work.

Responsibilities

• Complete facility maintenance and property punch lists.
• Handle minor repairs and replace basic hardware and fixtures.
• Complete paint touch-ups and small painting projects.
• Maintain walls, trim, grout and other surfaces.
• Perform detailed facility cleaning beyond normal restaurant cleaning.
• Clean vents, piping, walls and hard-to-reach areas.
• Move furniture or equipment to access work areas.
• Assist with preventative maintenance.
• Work with Facilities Manager on larger repairs and projects.
• Identify maintenance needs across properties and keep areas organized.

$18/hour (starting wage) | Part-Time/FlexTime | Daytime/Flexible Schedule | Grand Rapids

Join Essence Hospitality Group as a Facilities Specialist supporting Bistro Bella Vita, Grove and Lucy's. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys fixing things, improving spaces and seeing the results of their work.

Working alongside our Facilities Manager, you'll help handle the day-to-day maintenance, preventative upkeep, minor repairs and improvement projects that keep our restaurants looking and functioning their best.

What You'll Do

• Complete facility maintenance and property punch lists
• Handle minor repairs and replace basic hardware and fixtures
• Complete paint touch-ups and small painting projects
• Maintain walls, trim, grout and other building surfaces
• Perform detailed facility cleaning beyond normal restaurant cleaning
• Clean vents, piping, walls, windowsills, corners and other difficult-to-reach areas
• Move furniture or equipment when needed to access work areas
• Maintain doors, frames, entrances, rails and other building features
• Assist with preventative maintenance
• Work alongside the Facilities Manager on larger repairs and improvement projects
• Identify maintenance needs while working throughout our properties
• Keep tools, supplies and work areas clean and organizedCommunicate completed work, issues and additional repair needs

What We’re Looking For

You don't need to be a licensed tradesperson. We're looking for someone who is dependable, capable, observant and willing to learn.

You should be comfortable:

• Working independently from a prioritized task list
• Using basic hand and power tools
• Tackling a wide variety of physical projects
• Figuring out how to complete straightforward repairs and maintenance tasks
• Asking questions when something is outside your knowledge or skill level
• Moving between EHG restaurant locations as needed
• Safely using ladders and performing physical work throughout a shift

Previous experience in maintenance, construction, property care, restaurants or a similar hands-on environment is helpful, but aptitude, reliability and initiative matter just as much to us.
