Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment, and to respond to emergencies across the facility. The role includes minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks to keep systems operational.

The position requires a high school diploma, mechanical training, and at least one year of related repair experience, with strong customer service and reading/comprehension

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Mechanical training and 1 year hands-on job related experience in repair of stationary or mobile equipment required.
• Customer service skills and strong communication skills; initiative, ingenuity and drive to keep abreast of changing technology.
• Mechanical aptitude and computer knowledge.
• Able to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions; basic maths and ability to use formulas, charts and diagrams.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must pass a written test and hands-on skills demonstration with a minimum passing score of 75%.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and maintenance repairs on mechanical equipment and devices.
• Respond to emergency situations and calls throughout the facility.
• Perform minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry repairs to maintain systems operation.
