Job summary

JLL in Springfield, IL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems across electrical, HVAC, plumbing and mechanical equipment to support safe and reliable operations.

This on-site role emphasizes preventive maintenance, inspections, and adherence to safety practices, with responsibilities including updating work orders in Corrigo and completing routine tasks. A high school diploma and multi-trade experience are required, with flexibility for shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience maintaining commercial building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair facility equipment independently.
• Working knowledge of safety procedures, building codes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), including work order tracking platforms.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to elevate issues appropriately.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment, furniture, and materials as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot building systems and respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
• Conduct facility inspections and report conditions impacting building operations or occupant comfort.
• Complete general interior maintenance tasks including furniture repairs, door repairs, hanging fixtures, and minor installations.
• Replace lighting components, clean HVAC coils, and change filters and belts as part of routine maintenance activities.
• Utilize Corrigo to update work order status in real time and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures, complete hazard assessments, maintain housekeeping standards, and participate in required safety meetings and trainings.
