Job summary

Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is seeking an experienced, hands-on maintenance leader to plan, coordinate, and oversee the repair and upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and mechanical and electrical equipment. This full-time civil service role in Auburn, NY combines leadership with skilled building maintenance.

Starting salary is $50,163 and pay is commensurate with experience. The position includes benefits through NYS Employee Retirement System and health plans.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in construction or engineering technology plus two years of building repair experience; or
• Four years of building repair and maintenance experience; or
• An equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and routine repairs.
• Participate directly in repair and maintenance work as needed.
• Inspect buildings and grounds for maintenance and safety needs.
• Maintain and repair heating, cooling, and related equipment.
• Perform painting, plumbing, roofing, carpentry, and related tasks.
• Estimate project costs and requisition supplies.
• Operate shop and power equipment and perform minor equipment maintenance.
• Support snow removal and urgent facility responses.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report costly issues.
