The position supervises maintenance personnel and coordinates external contractors and service providers. In addition, the Maintenance and Facilities Manager serves as a project leader for facility upgrades, equipment installations, capital improvements, and infrastructure initiatives across the plant.

This role requires strong operational judgment, technical depth, project management capability, and the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive cross‑functional results in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead all plant maintenance and facilities operations to ensure the site, equipment, and supporting infrastructure are safe, compliant, clean, and fully operational.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and facilities personnel; establish clear priorities, expectations, and accountability.
  • Manage third‑party contractors, service providers, and OEM partners to ensure quality work, cost control, and compliance with plant standards and safety requirements.
  • Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize downtime and disruption while meeting budget and resource requirements.
  • Oversee repair, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for equipment and facility failures; implement corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability.
  • Manage plant facility services and site upkeep, which may include HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, plumbing, wastewater, machine coolant systems, fire protection systems, groundskeeping, snow removal, security systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Ensure maintenance support for manufacturing systems including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, servo, actuator, and machine calibration needs.
  • Maintain working knowledge of machine probing, part probing, component monitoring, PLC integration, and data collection tools used to support condition‑based maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Partner with operations, engineering, EHS, quality, and supply chain teams to align maintenance and facility priorities with production and business objectives.
  • Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, downtime, OEE support metrics, preventive maintenance completion, maintenance cost, response time, and spare parts performance.
  • Use data and technical expertise to identify trends, solve moderately complex operational and equipment issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available while optimizing stock levels and inventory cost.
  • Engage OEMs and technical service providers for troubleshooting support, equipment upgrades, obsolescence planning, and implementation of maintenance best practices.
  • Lead facility and equipment improvement projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, contractor coordination, execution, and closeout documentation.
  • Support capital planning and long‑range facility and equipment strategies, including lifecycle replacement planning and infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure all maintenance and facilities work is performed in compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, SOPs, PM procedures, contractor documentation, and project files.
  • Act as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced team members and may lead small to mid‑sized projects with moderate risk and resource requirements.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership for the maintenance and facilities team.
  • Build a culture of safety, urgency, accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Set team goals and monitor performance against plant and department objectives.
  • Support workforce planning, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Develop team technical capability in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, reliability practices, and equipment diagnostics.
Required Qualifications
