Job summary

York Community Resource Center is seeking a reliable maintenance worker to perform routine upkeep and repairs, ensuring a safe, functional facility. The role offers flexible hours and a chance to work in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate has prior maintenance or cleaning experience, knowledge of cleaning chemicals, and basic repair skills. Duties include cleaning, minor repairs, landscaping, and responding to maintenance requests with a proactive, safety‑minded approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a cleaner or in maintenance, or a related field, is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of general repair techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
• Ability to handle basic maintenance equipment and tools.
• Sanitize surfaces and replenish supplies in restrooms.
• Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to meet quality standards.
• Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Assist in the upkeep of grounds and landscaping.
• Ensure all maintenance tools and equipment are in good working order.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Always follow safety protocols and regulations.
• Notify management of any repairs or maintenance required.
