Job summary

GRAPEVINE OPERATING COMPANY LLC is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Lead in Bakersfield, CA. You will supervise general maintenance for buildings, yards, and biofuels/refinery areas and lead the Facilities Maintenance team.

Responsibilities include managing CMMS backlog, scheduling emergent work, performing preventive maintenance, landscaping, and supporting warehouse and janitorial tasks. A high school diploma and industrial maintenance experience are required; a valid driver's license is

• Basic HSSE knowledge including confined space entry, lock out/tag out, fall protection, etc.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Able to function in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages the CMMS facilities backlog and plans.
• Schedules and responds to emergent work in the facility.
• Leads facilities maintenance personnel and guides activities.
• Ensures compliance with safe work practices.
• Evaluates changes in the work environment for safety impact.
• Performs general building maintenance (lighting, painting, plumbing, HVAC PMs).
• Performs weed abatement and landscaping, including sprinkler repairs.
• Supports building janitorial services as required.
• Performs office setup and moves.
• Supports warehouse activities including stocking and inventorying.
• Performs general cleanup of buildings and storage areas.
• Transports vehicles for repair and performs light maintenance and washing.
• Conducts preventive maintenance on safety showers/eye washes and other safety equipment.
• Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Salary Range: $43.78 To $54.59 Hourly

Job Summary:

Under the supervision and guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, serves as Lead Facilities Person in the general maintenance for building, general yard and biofuels/refinery maintenance.

Essential Functions:

• Manages the CMMS Facilities backlog and plans


• Schedules and responds to emergent work in the facility


• Serves in a leadership role for the Facilities Maintenance personnel, guiding and assigning individuals’ activities


• Ensures compliance with safe work practices


• Evaluates changes in the work environment with respect to impact on safety; understands potential threats


• Performs general building maintenance including light and fixture replacements, painting, ceiling tiles, plumbing, HVAC PMs, etc.


• Performs weed abatement and general landscaping maintenance of buildings, including sprinkler repairs


• Supports building janitorial services as required


• Performs office set up including movement of furniture, file cabinets, boxes, etc.


• Supports warehouse activities including stocking and inventorying


• Performs general cleanup of various buildings and storage areas


• Transports vehicles for repair and servicing and performs light vehicle maintenance and washing


• Conducts preventive maintenance on safety showers/eye washes and other safety equipment


• Performs additional tasks as assigned and trained

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Safety Awareness: Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards.


• Must hold a Driver License with excellent driving record and be able to pass pre-employment background screening and drug screening


• Good verbal and written communication skills


• Be able to respond to emergency calls as needed including weekend and evenings


• Must be available for call outs including weekends, holidays and nights


• Capable of operating manlift


• Basic understanding of HSSE requirements including confined space entry, lock out/tag out, fall protection, etc.


• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair


• Ability to use hand tools and power tools


• Excellent organizational, time management skills and attention to detail


• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required


• Past industrial maintenance experience

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a physical test of pushing, pulling, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs


• Prolonged periods of standing and walking


• Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time


• Must be able to climb ladders and or stairs on tanks, vessels and structures; wear respirator; work around equipment containing high pressures and temperatures and various chemicals


• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces


• Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring equipment and materials
