Job summary

Grapevine Operating Company in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Lead to oversee building, yard, and biofuels/refinery maintenance. You will lead a facilities team, manage CMMS backlog, schedule emergent work, and ensure safe work practices across the site.

Facilities Maintenance Lead

Full Time Manual Labor 6451 ROSEDALE, Bakersfield, CA, US

Salary Range: $43.78 To $54.59 Hourly

Job Summary:

Under the supervision and guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, serves as Lead Facilities Person in the general maintenance for building, general yard and biofuels/refinery maintenance.

Essential Functions:

Manages the CMMS Facilities backlog and plans

Schedules and responds to emergent work in the facility

Serves in a leadership role for the Facilities Maintenance personnel, guiding and assigning individuals’ activities

Ensures compliance with safe work practices

Evaluates changes in the work environment with respect to impact on safety; understands potential threats

Performs general building maintenance including light and fixture replacements, painting, ceiling tiles, plumbing, HVAC PMs, etc.

Performs weed abatement and general landscaping maintenance of buildings, including sprinkler repairs

Supports building janitorial services as required

Performs office set up including movement of furniture, file cabinets, boxes, etc.

Supports warehouse activities including stocking and inventorying

Performs general cleanup of various buildings and storage areas

Transports vehicles for repair and servicing and performs light vehicle maintenance and washing

Conducts preventive maintenance on safety showers/eye washes and other safety equipment

Performs additional tasks as assigned and trained

Required Skills/Abilities:

Safety Awareness: Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards.

Must hold a Driver License with excellent driving record and be able to pass pre-employment background screening and drug screening

Good verbal and written communication skills

Be able to respond to emergency calls as needed including weekend and evenings

Must be available for call outs including weekends, holidays and nights

Capable of operating manlift

Basic understanding of HSSE requirements including confined space entry, lock out/tag out, fall protection, etc.

Knowledge of general carpentry and repair

Ability to use hand tools and power tools

Excellent organizational, time management skills and attention to detail

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Past industrial maintenance experience

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass a physical test of pushing, pulling, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs

Prolonged periods of standing and walking

Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time

Must be able to climb ladders and or stairs on tanks, vessels and structures; wear respirator; work around equipment containing high pressures and temperatures and various chemicals

Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces

Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring equipment and materials
