Job summary

PennEngineering in Danboro, PA is seeking a Maintenance Team member to join the Facilities Maintenance & HVAC Technician role. You will collaborate with teams to support manufacturing and engineering initiatives, ensuring reliable building systems and safe operations.

The role requires 2-4 years in facilities maintenance, strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and the ability to read blueprints. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or certs a plus.
  • 2-4 years in facilities/industrial maintenance or related trade.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Able to read blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Forklift certif. a plus or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and compressed air systems overnight.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct nightly facility walkthroughs to identify safety hazards or issues.
  • Perform minor repairs to doors, dock equipment, flooring, and building infrastructure as needed.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and coordinate with day staff on handoffs.
  • Operate and maintain building equipment such as compressors, elevators, chillers, and generators.
  • Adhere to plant safety protocols and complete work safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What You Will Do



  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and compressed air systems throughout the plant during the overnight shift.

  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and building system failures overnight to minimize production downtime.

  • Conduct nightly facility walkthroughs to identify and address safety hazards, leaks, or equipment issues before they escalate.

  • Perform minor repairs to doors, dock equipment, flooring, and general building infrastructure as issues arise during the shift.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders, and coordinate with day-shift facilities staff on ongoing issues and handoffs.

  • Operate and maintain building equipment such as compressor’s, elevators, chillers, and generators.

  • Adhere to all plant safety protocols and regulations, ensuring that work is completed safely and efficiently.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:



  • High school diploma or GED; trade school or technical certification a plus.

  • 2-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related trade, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

  • Comfortable working independently and overnight in an industrial environment with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

  • Forklift certification a plus, or willingness to obtain one.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to completing tasks.


Physical Requirements



  • Perform manual labor

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climbing, and working in various conditions in a manufacturing plant setting.
