Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution Coal Township seeks a Corrections Maintenance Foreman to lead inmate crews and manage maintenance, repair, construction, groundskeeping, and janitorial operations across the facility.

You will supervise daily schedules, ensure safety, perform skilled trades, train on equipment, and manage tool inventories while coordinating material needs.

Qualifications

• Four years of building maintenance, construction, or general trades experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to supervise inmate work crews and maintain order.
• Background investigation and CJIS compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Direct inmate work crews, assign schedules, inspect work, and maintain order.
• Complete or assist with construction, repair, maintenance, groundskeeping, janitorial, and snow removal tasks.
• Perform skilled/semi-skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, refrigeration, masonry, welding, and related trades.
• Provide instruction on operation and preventative maintenance of machinery and vehicles.
• Issue, track, and inventory tools and materials, and ensure accountability.
• Determine material and tool needs and submit purchase requests.
