Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer, or their designee, provides continuous mechanical and electrical support services and repairs to maintain the safe operation of Kaiser Permanente facilities. Resolves and documents all trouble calls related to mechanical and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

1. Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance calls.
2. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, structures, and associated systems, including mechanical and electrical repairs.
3. Conduct watch-standing activities on plant equipment, including chemical analysis and treatment.
4. Check and replenish supplies of fuel, materials, maintenance supplies, and repair parts.
5. Perform fire and life safety inspections and maintain records.
6. Identify and document work needed on equipment.
7. Maintain documentation of work performed.
8. Evaluate building systems and recommend modifications.
9. Assist with new building or expansion start-ups.
10. Assist with snow and ice removal when needed.
11. Perform building maintenance and repairs as required.
12. Conduct building inspections and safety testing.
13. Perform all related tasks as assigned by management.
14. Demonstrate excellent customer service and clear communication skills.

Qualifications

Experience

• Journeyman Stationary Engineer or 5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical maintenance and repair.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED.

Licenses and Certifications

• Limited Maintenance Electrician License (Oregon) within 3 months of hire.
• Refrigerator Piping Installers Certificate within 3 months of hire.
• Universal Chlorofluorocarbons Certificate within 3 months of hire.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to use all trade tools.
• Ability to read wiring schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Maintain high standards of quality in a healthcare setting.
• Complete written documentation of work.
• Operate PCs and write basic building automation programs.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
