Job summary

Cherokee Nation Entertainment is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Associate to maintain the appearance, functionality, and safety of its Oklahoma facilities through routine and preventive maintenance.

The role performs general building repairs, painting, carpentry and electrical/plumbing tasks, maintains grounds, and supports renovations while following strict safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2 years related experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of proper use and care of hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of one- and two-person lift/scissor lift operation; ability to operate heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical LOTO procedures and PPE usage.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs throughout facilities.
  • Paint interior and exterior areas, including parking lot striping.
  • Assist with carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist with facility systems and equipment.
  • Monitor mechanical and electrical equipment for proper operation.
  • Perform power washing of parking lots and other designated areas.
  • Assist with water softener maintenance.
  • Maintain property appearance through mowing, landscaping, and groundskeeping.
  • Assist with casino and facility renovations.
  • Escort vendors throughout facilities as needed.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely.
  • Follow safety procedures including LOTO and PPE.

Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining the appearance, functionality, and safety of facilities through routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities. The position works across a variety of facility systems and may assist with renovations, equipment monitoring, grounds maintenance, power washing, and vendor escorting. The role requires adherence to safety procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions.

This position has no supervisory or management authority.

NOTE: This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Please note that a positive drug test result, including for marijuana, may result in a job offer being rescinded for applicants or termination of employment for current employees, even if they possess a valid medical marijuana license.

  • Follow all required safety procedures, including electrical Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) and proper PPE use.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and two years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the proper use and care of hand tools and corded and cordless power tools.
  • Knowledge of one- and two-person man lift/scissor lift operation.
  • Knowledge and ability to safely operate heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licensing required by the appropriate gaming authority.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in environments involving second-hand smoke, bright lights, and loud noise.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physically active maintenance duties.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Commitment to following established safety procedures and wearing required PPE at all times.
