Job summary

Cherokee Nation Entertainment is seeking an Armed Security Guard to safeguard our properties, guests, and employees. You will patrol casinos, smoke shops, and parking areas, check IDs, and respond to incidents.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and security experience along with relevant licenses or the ability to obtain them. You will work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, in diverse environments with safety‑sensitive responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 6 months of experience in security or related field preferred.
• Oklahoma CLEET armed security guard license preferred; required within 180 days if hired.
• Cherokee Nation Armed Security Officer license required.
• Knowledge of firearms and defensive tactics.
• Knowledge of surveillance video systems and chain of evidence.
• Ability to pass CNE custody control and weapons training.
• Ability to obtain licensing by gaming authority.

Responsibilities

• Actively patrol Cherokee Nation Entertainment properties including casinos, smoke shops, and parking facilities.
• Prevent entry of prohibited items and verify identification for age compliance.
• Greet guests and provide directions or assistance as needed.
• Respond to accidents/incidents with CPR and first aid when required.
• Detect suspicious activity, notify leadership, and document incidents.
• Maintain relations with local law enforcement and fire authorities.
• Prepare written reports of investigations and patrol activities; interview witnesses.

Job Description

As an Armed Security Guard, you'll be a critical component of our security team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all Cherokee Nation Entertainment (CNE) properties, guests, and employees. This role requires a vigilant and proactive approach to security, including patrols, incident response, and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. You'll work closely with local law enforcement and leadership to uphold a secure and welcoming environment.

NOTE

This position is considered safety‑sensitive and is subject to pre‑employment and random drug testing. A positive drug test result, including for marijuana, may result in a job offer being rescinded for applicants or termination of employment for current employees, even if they possess a valid medical marijuana license.

Responsibilities

• Actively patrol CNE properties, including casinos, smoke shops, and parking lots, to protect physical assets, guests, and employees. Report all safety hazards to leadership.
• Prevent guests from entering with prohibited items and address any violations of policies and procedures. Verify identification to ensure compliance with age requirements.
• Greet guests, provide directions, and offer aid to anyone who requests or requires it.
• Respond promptly to accidents and incidents, performing CPR and first aid procedures as needed.
• Detect suspicious activity and behavior, notify leadership, and maintain detailed written incident reports following established policies.
• Maintain strong working relationships with local law enforcement agencies and fire and safety departments.
• Prepare written reports of investigations, criminal, and patrol activities. Interview witnesses and obtain signatures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 6 months of experience in security or a related field.
• State of Oklahoma Council of Law Enforcement, Education, and Training (CLEET) armed security guard license preferred at time of hire; required within 180 days of hire or transfer date.
• Cherokee Nation Armed Security Officer license required.
• Working knowledge of firearms and defensive tactics.
• Working knowledge of surveillance video systems and how to maintain a chain of evidence.
• Ability to pass a CNE security‑approved custody control and weapons training.
• Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming authority.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Comfortable working in diverse settings, including climate‑controlled offices, outdoors in all types of weather, and casino floors with exposure to second‑hand smoke and crowd noise.
