Job summary

J.J. Taylor Companies is seeking a Facilities Associate to perform general entry level maintenance across the Tampa facility. You will operate cleaning equipment, assist in inspections, and help maintain safe, clean, and well-maintained buildings and fleet areas.

This role requires ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and power tools, with attention to safety and following written instructions. High school diploma or GED preferred; on-site warehouse environment with some physical labor.

Qualifications

• Proficient in using hand and power tools for minor repairs.
• Operate electric pallet jack, forklift and other powered equipment.
• Read and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Maintain clean and safe warehouse and office areas.

Responsibilities

• Operate scrubber sweeper to keep warehouses clean.
• Perform maintenance repairs such as painting, pressure washing, and trash removal.
• Assist in monthly facility inspections.
• Transport recyclables to appropriate containers for disposal.
• Adhere to safety codes and OSHA standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
• Oversee upkeep of facility, equipment and fleet areas.
• Stock and manage supplies.
• Support facilities and fleet personnel as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Facilities Associate

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs general entry level maintenance and repairs throughout the Facility. Ensures the upkeep of the facilities. Uses hand and power tools to assist in maintaining the building and equipment in a safe, clean, and well-maintained condition to prevent degradation of property and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates scrubber sweeper to ensure cleanliness of the warehouses.
• Performs general maintenance repairs such as painting, pressure washing, emptying trash containers, etc.
• Assists in the monthly facility inspections.
• Transports plastic, aluminum, glass, and cardboard to compactors or containers for compression for proper disposal.
• Adheres to all safety codes and OSHA standards.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment.
• Responsible for the overall upkeep of the facility, equipment, and fleet areas.
• Stocking and maintaining supplies.
• Assist facilities and fleet personnel as needed.

• Able to move easily throughout the warehouse, grounds, and offices.
• Occasionally must climb a ladder for hard-to-reach areas.
• Able to be at heights using an elevated lift and two-person scissor lift. Must be able to properly use fall protection when using elevated lift platform and two-person scissors lift.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. of material, such as mulch bags, fertilizer, etc.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

High School diploma or GED preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Warehouse environment.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, dusty conditions, and outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions.
